EXPERIENCE SUMMARY
I had over forty-four years experience in the design of power plants, sub~stations and retrofit projects when I retired in 2003. Design responsibilities have ranged from conceptual design for new projects, (office and site - assignments) plant construction through start-up, commercial operations and retrofit projects at various plants in the United States and abroad. I Provided technical direction to designers to insure accurate design output, I developed design standards and desk top procedures. My duties also included implementation of drawing update and configuration control programs.
PROJECT OVERVIEW
Comanche Peak Nuclear Generating Station, Glen Rose, Texas. Instrumentation and Control Design Supervisor responsible for the design and implementation of the Unit l Plant Computer Upgrade Project, which required the replacement of the original Westinghouse P-2500 Computer and reconfiguration of existing end devices, signal loops, Control Room, Emergency Operation Facility and Technical Support Center displays.
Retrofit Design, St. Lucie Units 1 and 2, Ft. Pierce, Florida. Extensive experience as Instrumentation and Controls Supervisor in the preparation and review of Plant Change Modification Packages, in support of refueling outages, system upgrades, replacement of obsolete equipment, Appendix "R" and plant operation and maintenance retrofit activities. Prepared and resolved discrepancies between various plant documents (e.g., schematic and control wiring diagrams, instrument list, etc.).
Emergency Diesel Generator Addition Project, Turkey Point Nuclear Power Plant, Florida City, Florida. Performed engineering and design functions for this major plant upgrade which installed two new EDGs and extensively modified the plant auxiliary distribution system. Prepared loop and logic diagrams, schematics and wiring diagrams. Also provided construction and start-up support during the installation and testing phases of the project.
Commision Federal de Electricldad - Laguna Verde Units 1 and 2. Duties included the following: assisted and supported construction during implementation of engineering packages for related plant change modications. Provided disposition for field change paper, construction documentation etc. (NCR‘s, DCN‘s, FCN‘s, CRN‘s). Engineering resolution of problems encountered during plant construction, design modifications of physical interferences, interpretation of electrical drawings.
